Setup - Configuring your store options

You will want to review your settings in the server admin area to customize the behaviour of your shopping cart. Here you will configure the options that affect the store pricing, taxes, payment options, security, and more.

Your choices will effect how messages sync'd to QB are detailed. ( For example, if orders should get a 'class' assigned to them for reporting purposes later or customers should get assigned a sales rep, you need to have sales reps and/or classes defined in QB.) Take a look at Things to add to QB for more details.

If you are unsure of the meaning of each option, you can review the definitions in the sub-section All Options Defined.

There are several overview videos available here to familiarize you with overall concepts as well as detailed usage of specific features. Please take a few moments to review them.

Tips:

If you have not created an item for shipping, create one. A Service type item is probably the ideal type. When you make it in QB, be sure to sync before going to store options to select it. When you set it in store options as the shipping item, DO NOT DELETE IT from QB or your orders will get stuck in the Message Queue until a technician can reassign to a existing item.

When testing your checkout process, be sure to review your store options settings. A common issue can be resolved quickly simply by checking your store options. If testing payment processing, make sure you have it setup! If order or customer related messages are 'stuck' in your queue, be sure your sync is working properly and of course, be sure you have not deleted objects in QB that the store settings (and message generation) rely on...like sales reps, classes, items, etc.
