FAQ's
Can I still use QuickBooks copies I already have?
Yes, SAM should be used for additional personnel that
you can't or prefer not to give a full
copy of QuickBooks to. Since SAM adds sales features,
provides anywhere access, and limits the abilites
of it's users, SAM is perfect for use by sales staff,
employees, and any remote users.
Where should I install SAM?
SAM only needs to be installed on one computer, preferrably
the file server with the shared QuickBooks file. All
users will only need a web browser to access SAM.
We recommend IE 5.0 or newer. Does my confidential data go anywhere?
No, SAM installs entirely in your network, so it has
local access to your company data. Thus, your data
is not uploaded anywhere, and stays right where it
belongs.
Can I install SAM on a computer with 256MB of RAM
or less?
Yes, however this should only be for evaluation. Use
sample files supplied with QuickBooks. Have 512MB to
1GB of RAM before running SAM on a real file, especially
with thousands of customers and/or items. What should I have for best results?
First, you should have 1GB of memory for the SAM Server
computer. Faster hard drives will also have a very
noticeable impact on system performance and are recommended
for 10+ user systems and if you are using the webstore. Processor
speed does not signifigantly effect performance.
A single 2Ghz class processor is more than enough.
What QuickBooks versions are supported?
US 2002 and 2003 Pro or higher is supported. Canadian
2003 Pro and higher versions are also supprted. Enterprise,
Premier, and Pro versions are supported.
What won't work with QuickBooks 2002?
Several features will not be available for QB 2002 based
systems. SAM Reports and High Performance Forms will
not work on 2002 systems.

up.
- Subsequent startups only ask for what has changed
- SAM has an hourly timer that runs automatically,
also only requesting what has changed
- Entries made in SAM are immediately validated in
QuickBooks and then updated in SAM.
- Changes made in QuickBooks are picked up by the
timer service
- Click
the 'Re-Synch' link in the admin section any time
to bring the latest changes since the timer
last was run last.
